Parts of a Volcano!
A Volcano have many different parts on it:
Vent: Is an opening that allows air to enter.
Ash cloud: Is the powdery result of the eruption.
Dike: The barrier of the volcano.
Flank: The side of the volcano.
Lava: Magma the goes out of the volcano and solidifies as it cools.
Crater: Mouth of a volcano from were the lava and eruption materials go out.
Summit: Highest point of the volcano.
Pipe: The tube inside of the volcano. All the erupting materials go out from there directly to the crater.
Magma chamber: It is a chamber that is located in the inside part of the volcano, its connected to the pipe and its the storage of molten material in the volcano.

3 Types of Volcanoes!
There are 4 types of volcanoes throughout the world:
Shield cone: Shield volcanoes are formed by lava flows of low viscosity like Pahoe- hoe or ropy lava. With the pass of time a big mountain of hardened material is formed. Result of the cooling of the lava flow.
Characteristics:Volcanoes with flat top, shield like shapes.
Example: Hawaii.
Composite: Composite volcanoes, also called strato volcanoes, are formed by alternating layers of lava and rock fragments. Layers of lava and rock particles or tephra lahar, pyroclastic Flows. Can have explosive eruptions.
Characteristics: In case of there wasn't an explosive eruption, the shape is like a cone. In the case of an explosive eruption the volcano looks like a cone in half.
Example:
Cinder Cone: Produced by explosive eruptions, ash cinders and other volcanic debris.
Characteristics: Generally formed from wet, silicar-rich magma.
Example: Indonesia

3 Mayor Stages of Volcanoes In the World. :D
There are 3 mayor stages of volcanoes in Ecuador:
Active: is a volcano that has had at least one eruption during the past 10,000 years. This means that its constantly erupting during a period of time.
Example: Tungurahua (Ecuador)
Dormant: is an active volcano that is not erupting, but supposed to erupt again.
Example: Cotopaxi (Ecuador)
Extinct: has not had an eruption for at least 10,000 years and is not expected to erupt again in a comparable time scale of the future.
Example: Chimborazo (Ecuador)

Project Introduction
Welcome to my blog, my name is Isabella Zuquilanda, I'm a 8th grader student in Colegio Menor.
I was assigned a Topic about science, ¨Volcanoes¨. For this project my role is about a scientist (me) that discovered amazing information about volcanoes. I am going to teach all 8th graders about my wonderful discoveries.
The three subtopics I'm going to talk about in this project are:
- 3 stages of volcanoes in the world: Dormant, Active & extinct.
- 4 types of volcanoes: Shield, Composite-Strato, Cinder volcanoes and Lava Domes.
- Parts of a volcano, location of the parts, and for what things you use each part.
Finally, I would like to teach every person that enters to my bog, more about the facinating world of volcanoes.
